Happy new year

Hello everyone.
Sorry i haven't been posting lately but i have been busy with all sorts of things the past 3 months.
Pass it on young sports Derbyshire is my main focus this year, showing people that air guns can be fun when used responsibly and getting people into field sports as a new hobby. This year i will be hosting Pass it on taster days all over derbyshire, dates and venues will be posted soon.
As for shooting, i have been out a few times the past few weeks but only to reduce the number of rats on the dairy farm. These rats are like no other, almost as big as cats, and when shot with a .22 pellet in the head they still try to get away. The rabbit population is slowly coming back after 3 years, mixy wiped out most of the rabbits and its been a long hard road for them to reestablish themselves. The pheasants have been hunted well this year and it makes for a change of tactics to get a good shot.
One new problem we have on the farm is the fox. Over the past few weeks the foxes have been trying to get at the chickens so they will have to be taken in hand very soon. The pigeon population has been the focus for the shotguns of DVS and the numbers shot in one outing makes it worthwhile sitting in the hide in the cold.

I will be at the British shooting show at stoneleigh park this year and you will find me on the " Pass it on young sports " stand so come and have a chat.

I hope you all had a good Christmas and may i wish you all a great new year.

All the best.

Richard
