The British Shooting Show is being held on the 28th February and 1st March 2009 at the Nottinghamshire based Newark showground.Air Gun manufacturers are very well represented at this exciting new specialist shooting event and, being almost entirely indoors, you are guaranteed a warm and dry visit, whatever the weather.The show represents an ideal opportunity to talk to manufacturers, get the latest technical details, glean information on future developments and, most importantly, try the guns for yourself on the special exhibitors target range.DAYSTATE will have a full range of rifles on display including the new Daystate MK4 which features a new version of the Harper Patent MCT Electronic Firing System – a digital regulator that compensates each shot. You can also see and try the fully electronic Air Wolf, the retro-styled, 10 shot, pre charged Huntsman Classic, the Merlyn and the Air Ranger. Make sure you also get to see the new Grand Prix. Daystate’s Tony Belas says “This is the rifle that will return Daystate back to its field target roots. The Grand Prix is the most advanced air gun we have ever produced.”Promatic have developed a new multi function target system and will be providing the new lever action, 10 shot, AIR ARMS S510 for those people that wish to enter on the day for the Promatic challenge trophy and other daily prizes. Promatic will also be very happy to allow you to handle and evaluate the S510 and the bolt action S410 and try them on the competition range.


BROCOCK will be showing their AIM-X range of PCP single shot pistols and light rifles. The Contour is a remarkable new PCP carbine offering up to 30 full power shots per charge. The Accent is the long sporting version of the Contour and will be exhibited for the first time in the UK at The British Shooting Show. The company will also be showing the new UMAREX Air magnum 850; a multishot 88g, C02 hunting rifle, available in .177 and .22 calibre.A full range of SMK air rifles will be on display from Sportsmarketing, including the break barrel and under lever “Super Grade” range, the Super Custom DB4 and the XS78 and XS79 C02 rifles both available in either .22 or .177. The XS79 is designed for use with the 88gms C02 capsule. SMK will also be displaying ANICS Multishot C02 pistols and their own SMK break barrel single shot pistols.


To be seen for the first time at any European show will be the new WEBLEY Venom Sidewinder PCP Rifle. Other PCP rifles will include the raider 1-2 and 10 shot models and the LiteW8. They will also be showing the new C02 powered, single shot Rabbitstopper V2 and the Ratcatcher V2. Many other well known models will be on display including, the break barrel Stingray carbine, Stingray 2, and the 2XS, the Longbow SE, the Polystock Junior 375 and the Blackhawk. All rifles are available with AGS scopes. Back by popular demand is the LOGUN-AXSOR which will be shown alongside the New LOGUN S-16 EVO. The new EVO has had a number of upgrades including a redesigned two stage trigger, new stock alignment, and much redesigned internals. THEOBEN will be showing the Rapid S Type, bolt action PCP. Developed using some of the best features of the Rapid MFR and MK2, it can be used as a single shot or magazine fed and comes complete with tripod, match grade trigger and Vortex silencer. Theoben also manufacture a wide range of air rifles, including, the Rapid MFR PCP, the Rapid Tactical PCP, the Evolution break barrel and the SLR under lever.The 14 shot WEIHRAUCH PCP, 100 series can be seen on the Euroguns stand along with examples of Weihrauch’s break action and under lever models. Euroguns are also stockists of the famous STEYR field target rifle with infinitely adjustable grip, adjustable check piece and fore-end stock. They also stock the STEYR Hunter which is used on the HFT circuit to great effect.


With its classic and timeless full length, “Mannlicher” styled beech stock, the DIANA STUTZEN model 46 from RUAG is a striking gun. This under lever Springer is available in .177 or .22 calibre and is built to the standard you would expect from a company that has been making air rifles since 1890. A full range of Diana air guns will be shown on the RUAG stand, including the Diana Panther 21 and the Diana Model 5GTM air pistol. Primarily built as a takedown hunting rifle in .22 calibre, the GUNPOWER stealth is also available in .177 as an accurate target gun. Using compressed air as its power source, the Stealth, in .22 calibre can give over 500 shots at 12 ft/lbs. Gunpower also produce The Storm, The Shadow and The SSS – FAC. The SSS is one of the most powerful air rifles in the world and is capable of producing 60ft/lbs of muzzle energy in .22, .20 and .177 calibre. You will require an FAC to own this particular rifle. The new BSA Scorpion T10 PCP, with tactical stock, is available as a single shot or 10 shot autoloader. It has a fully – floated, match grade barrel, which is pre threaded for a silencer. The specification also includes recoilless, pre-charged pneumatic action, bolt action cocking and loading and two stage adjustable precision trigger.With stockists of STOEGER, GAMMO and FALCON also exhibiting at the show it surely has to be one of the most comprehensive exhibitions of airguns in the shooting calendar.
